Hey guys! I'm eager to see all y'all's creations and really get this comm off the ground, but I know that a lot of times it seems really difficult to cook something fun for your fandom. It's really not that hard if you just give it your best, but a little bit of inspiration never hurt anyone! :)

I'm hoping this post can act as a way to throw around some ideas for people who don't really know what to do. Easy, complex, quick, time-consuming...what are some things you've ever thought about making?

One of the easiest things to make imho is cookies. Cookies are the ultimate in quick and easy (just go pick up a roll of dough!) and they're infinitely customizable. Shape 'em or decorate 'em--it's easy to have a lot of fun with them~! If you want to go for something a bit more difficult, maybe a meal featured in the story? If nothing is really shown, but it's from a period piece, maybe you could make something from that time period? :) I know for a FACT that there are several Jane Austen cookbooks on the market, for example.

So what are you guys thinking about? Is there a fandom you're in love with but you don't know what to make for it? Are there some things that guys have already done that you know work well? Please share~!

I actually bought this cookbook which is filled with recipes based on popular books. It's called The Book Club Cookbook. For example..

From The DaVinci Code there's Juli Rosenbaum's Rosemary Spaghetti and John Hornburg's Death By Chocolate. Or say, from the book Girl With A Pearl Earring there's a recipe for Griet's Vegetable Soup. Or from Memoirs of a Geisha there's teriyaki beef skewers.

I haven't tried anything from this book yet, but when I saw this community I knew there was a reason I bought the book!

And I have to say, it's going to make me more observant when reading other books about foods they eat, to see what I can do!

That book sounds brilliant. I'm really excited to see what comes out of it! I just got Roald Dahl's Revolting Recipes and I'm looking forward to trying out some of those, too. XD

Yeah, ikr? Before I started cooking myself I never really paid attention to any of that. Now I can't help but think, 'Wow, that would be really fun to make...'

Yah! I'm reading The Road right now and unfortunately while they do talk a lot about what they're eating, nothing sounds horribly appetizing (a handful of dried up raisins for instance).
