Hey guys! I'm eager to see all y'all's creations and really get this comm off the ground, but I know that a lot of times it seems really difficult to cook something fun for your fandom. It's really not that hard if you just give it your best, but a little bit of inspiration never hurt anyone! :)
I'm hoping this post can act as a way to throw around some ideas for people who don't really know what to do. Easy, complex, quick, time-consuming...what are some things you've ever thought about making?
One of the easiest things to make imho is cookies. Cookies are the ultimate in quick and easy (just go pick up a roll of dough!) and they're infinitely customizable. Shape 'em or decorate 'em--it's easy to have a lot of fun with them~! If you want to go for something a bit more difficult, maybe a meal featured in the story? If nothing is really shown, but it's from a period piece, maybe you could make something from that time period? :) I know for a FACT that there are several Jane Austen cookbooks on the market, for example.
So what are you guys thinking about? Is there a fandom you're in love with but you don't know what to make for it? Are there some things that guys have already done that you know work well? Please share~!

To kick things off, the most difficult and time-consuming thing I've ever made? Confit byaldi. This delicious dish might be familiar to you if you've ever seen the movie Ratatouille. When the animators were making the movie, they commissioned Thomas Keller to create a real dish for them to film. In the end, Keller made the mouth-watering variation on traditional ratatouille that Remy makes at the very end of the movie.
The New York Times published the recipe...and away I went!

Hi there! I am your friendly mod, polysamachan, and I would like to welcome you to omnomfandom! Once upon a time I posted a secret on fandom secrets on a lark. To my surprise, lots of people commented on it! Some were supportive, some told me stories of their own kitchen adventures, and some asked questions about how to start on their own fan-tastic culinary journey. I realized right then and there that this community definitely had to be made.
So come on in! Share with us your fabulous culinary creations! Just remember to check on the rules before posting. Especially that last one. It's a doozy. :)
